Sweet Graphic

I'm a t-shirt nut.  If I see a cool shirt, I'll buy it.  A new one I saw, pretty aweomse.

Garage Cleaning

About the only thing I've had time for was cleaning the garage.  It was trashed after the wife had chickens in there and my various bike repairs.  When I'm working on something, I tend to lay stuff down right where I'm working, thinking I'll need it when I put things back together.

That usually leads me to look for tools and parts on end because I'll set them down in random places that "I'll never forget about that."  Well enough is enough I have to get the crap hole cleaned up.  Sure wish I was more organized but hell, that costs too much.

Weather is changing and the Commune is going to be a lot smaller soon as activities move inside for winter refurbishment of the bikes.

Flood Run

Well the Flood Run was pretty awesome.  Just hauling ass and bikes running crappy.  Good time.

Some victims of the day.

Thanks for the tag buddy.  You just earned Bad Ass of the Day.

Scott's bike was having fuel starvation issues.  We first thought is was the gas getting sucked out of the carb because he's a badass and doesn't run an air cleaner.

First attempt at an air damn.

While the coolness factor was there, it lasted a whole 3 miles then flew off.  Next attempt:  Minnow strainer.

Turned out to only be a plugged fuel filter.  Got a new one and back on the road.  Rode fast and hard.   Blew by some cops and they were nice enough to just wave and tell us to slow down.

FC chain

So my fucked fender design allows me about a pube hair width of adjustment in my chain.  I sprung for a Troy Fab bolt-on unit.  Apparently the cross tube on the hardtail isn't quite one inch.  I had to do some customizing with file to get it to clamp down.  Overall, I like it.  I keeps me from having to move the axle.

We'll see if it flies off going down the road and launches me to a (hopefully) fiery death.

FMA

Got me some FMA schwag today.  Sure miss the SoCal lane splitting frezy......

FMA is one of those shops that support the lifestyle and the machines we love.

Check'em out.

Chopper tire

Dammit.  Because my fender is shitty, which I hate and am changing this winter, when I shortened my chain it is rubbing against the fender.  She tricks me when I take off but give it about 5 minutes for the tire to warm up and it's rubbing against the fender.  Damage is done, chain tensioner ordered so I can say FUCK YOU to axle adjusters.

Driveway fire

One of the things I love about being out on the Commune is the fact we have fires in our driveway.  Here's some pics from tonight.

My try at an artsy bike pic.

Smores!!

Yumm

Same sight as before, just a difference in light.

So long shovel

So after a short period, I decided to sell the shovel.  That motor and bike is WAAAYYY too nice for me.  Sold it to Scott so I will get to see it come along.  That's cool, he doesn't have a chopper, now he will after the long Minnechoda winter.  I sure hope it's a bitchen bike or I'll kick his ass.

Anyway, with that one out of the garage, it's time to start work on the CT1.  I was thinking about it while I was mowing the other day.  I needed something to cruise over to my neighbor's house, drink beer and come home.  My neighbor lives down a gravel road and neither the FC or sporty are very conducive to gravel.

Sticking with my theme of not caring if I dump it, here is a little inspiration for me.

FTW Wednesday (a day late)

Damn work and your long hours.

School

Izzy started school on Wednesday.  Then I proceeded to work a fuck ton that day.  Reminded me of this song.

So long sucka(s)

Finally joined a credit union.  Keep yo' money local.

Big Bird

As I was sitting there taking a link out of the FC sloppy chain, I looked through my garage door and thought this was kind of a cool picture.  So I took it.  I'm not one for artsy pics, but I try once in a while.

Running again

Got the FC back together now that I actually had some time and the rocker box gaskets.  Something about the simplicity of putting together and Ironhead top end is relaxing to me.

I also got a tank for the Storm Shovel.  Don't worry, those aren't the bars I'm using.  Izzy had to get in the picture as well.

Fuck Face

Sorry, I had to.  Too funny.   Head over here to check out more:  http://murraythenut.tumblr.com/

Internet parts

I'm all for buying parts from indies but the problem is, I work too much and don't have good access to indies when I need parts.  The wife can only do so many parts runs for me so I rely on the internets a lot for parts.

The dreaded ebay is a good source for cheap stock parts.  A buddy of mine in offroading told me one time the key to the reliability to his offroad rigs is the use of stock parts.  Not only are they considerably cheaper than bling parts, but they are readily available.

It also allows you to spend on better parts in better places.  So most stocker large parts I source off ebay.

Stocker new parts, like motor parts, I get from Bike Bandit.  I don't like to promote a lot of things, but Bike Bandit does a lot of parts.  They ship FAST too.  I ordered some head gaskets for the ironhead and got them in two days.  Badass shipping, great internet site and they've never let me down.  I'm always looking for last minute parts and they always seem to have them and deliver.  So if you are in the market, look them up, but support your local indie first.

Redneck drive by

So we got bored and decided to shoot up my old bronco one day.  We probably blew through a couple hundred dollars of ammo, shooting a vehicle that was about 50 feet away.  Fun times.
